Google-Panda-Update

See what we did there? That play on words? Yeah, we know we’re good.

Google has released another update to it’s Panda algorithm. Though they release a new update every month, this one was big enough to let us know about. The newest release is set to again target sites with low quality content, sites that are out of date, and sites that are really lacking any kind of engagement with their audiences. The latest update has many SEO’s and marketing companies furiously adopting content strategies to help weather the Panda wrath, and for good reason. Panda will single-handedly take down your site. And it’s not just content. If your site hasn’t been redone since 2010, and you’re not doing anything to enhance the mobile experience, you may as well take the site down all together. It’s like wearing that blazer from 1994 with the shoulder pads that would make KISS jealous- no one wants to see that.

We’ve talked to a lot of our clients over the past few weeks about the importance of content, mobile and updates. This is because we’re seeing the biggest crackdown we’ve ever seen to site performance. Google means business. An entire industry is getting turned on its head: keywords and links as we know it don’t matter like they used to, and SEO’s are having major identity crissessesesss (I couldn’t spell it, so I just made it really, really bad, ok?). It’s adapt or die. Market or die, as the name of this blog suggests.

Check out this infographic which really explains why content marketing is so important for keeping Pandazilla off your back and keeping your customers happy.
